Skin excess is different from fat
Loose folds after weight loss may not respond to fat removal alone. Body contouring can involve skin removal from selected areas. The abdomen, arms, thighs or chest may require different plans; treating everything at once is not always appropriate.
Why timing matters
Discuss weight stability, nutrition, smoking and previous weight-loss surgery. Current medicines also belong in the assessment. Do not stop prescribed medicines yourself; ask the surgical and prescribing teams to agree on preparation. Future weight change may alter the result.
A staged plan can be useful
Discuss priorities and the physical demands of recovery. Skin-removal surgery leaves scars, and larger operations can involve more wound care and support. Ask about healing difficulties, fluid collections, infection and clot prevention. The plan should reflect your health and available help, not just an ideal silhouette.
If you are travelling to Jordan
Share your priorities in an initial consultation request and ask what records the team needs through an agreed private channel. Plan local follow-up before a return ticket. Confirm who will help with daily activities and how further care will be arranged after you return home.
Common questions
Can liposuction alone treat substantial loose skin?
Often it does not. Examination distinguishes skin excess from remaining fat and helps choose an appropriate approach.
